When it comes to the face, there are quite a few non-surgical options available for those of us who don’t want to go under the knife. Jill Zarin was recently in People magazine promoting her “knife-free facelift”, and I’m sure everyone wants to know what she had done if she didn’t have surgery?

Keep Reading to find out!

Jill had Restylane injections in her cheeks and jawline to “fill and lift”. But, did it make her look younger?

I’m not sure about that” says Park Avenue plastic surgeon Dr. Nicholas Vendemia. “It looks like Jill got a nice result, but I’m not sure that it gave her the look she was going for, which is a younger, refreshed, lifted look. She looks beautiful in both her Before and her After pictures, but she looks a bit more masculine in the After photo, which is something that can happen from injecting too much product into the jawline and lower face.

Dr. Vendemia adds, “I think Jill would have gotten a more feminine, pretty, and youthful look if the injections had been centered around her cheeks and eyes. The classically youthful face has a heart shape to it, and this heart changes to more of a square shape as we age. Augmenting Jill’s jawline instead of her cheekbones actually made her look a little older because her face is more square than heart-shaped.

A product like Sculptra, which is actually marketed by the company as The Liquid Facelift, may have been a better choice for Jill, especially if it was used to rejuvenate her midface instead of her jaw. Sculptra lasts quite a bit longer than Restylane, and has the added benefit of stimulating collagen production (something that Restylane doesn’t do). While I agree that Jill certainly doesn’t look bad, I do think she looked prettier, younger, and more feminine in her Before picture… sorry Jill!
